Sacramento Republic FC look to keep their good form going when they travel to Texas this weekend to take on San Antonio FC on Saturday, June 16. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on KQCA My58, Estrella TV and ESPN+.
Saturday’s match will be second and final match between the two sides during the regular season. Republic FC took the first game in the series, a 2-1 win in their home opener back in March. Sacramento is now 1-1-2 all-time with the Texan club.
Republic FC (8-3-4) enter the game after defeating Fresno FC 1-0 on the road on Wednesday night. Luis Espino had the lone goal in a blistering match where temperatures reached 99 degrees at kickoff. Between USL and U.S. Open Cup matches, the win marked Republic FC’s fifth game in 15 days.
On the opposite side of the pitch, a well-rested San Antonio FC (4-3-5) heads into the fixture following a two-week break in play—Darren Powell’s side last played a league match on June 2nd when they defeated Portland Timbers 2 in stoppage time. The Texan club is tied for the 5th best defense in the league, conceding 13 goals so far this season, one less than Republic FC.
If Sacramento defeats or draws with San Antonio, it will mark their best start to a season through 16 games.
Republic FC will host official watch parties at Chando’s Cantina (Downtown) and Sactown Sports Bar (Old Sacramento). Live updates of the match will be provided via Twitter by following @SacRepublicFC or #SAvSAC. To see more matchday information, visit www.sacrepublicfc.com/matchday-guide.
