Republic FC officially kicked off training camp from Cosumnes River College
The Indomitable Club is finally back at it, getting ready for the highly anticipated 2022 season.
After a long offseason spent improving the squad in every area, the Indomitable Club took to the pitch at Cosumnes River College earlier this week, officially opening their 2022 Training Camp presented by Western Health Advantage.
A windy morning didn’t stop the squad from hitting the ground running on Day 1, as they aimed to get back into the swing of things. Getting touches on the ball and setting a path for the squad to establish much-needed camaraderie was the focus both on Tuesday and throughout the week, which saw Sacramento’s technical staff run its roster through a number of activities to restore their muscle memory, and get a baseline for their fitness entering the year.
“I can already see that there’s togetherness, there’s leadership out here,” said head coach Mark Briggs following the opening session. “It’s nice to get back out on the grass and get the players touching a ball again. Over the next few weeks, we’ll focus a lot on integration so we can become a collective unit.”
Week two will take the first team to Palm Springs, CA, where they’ll continue their preparations – and more importantly – utilize the opportunity for crucial team building and integration. They’ll also kick off against two opposing sides for closed-door scrimmage matches, giving each member of the squad a chance to prove their worth to Mark Briggs and the technical staff.
