Sacramento, Calif. – Today, Republic FC and the Sacramento Regional Water Authority (RWA) announced a new partnership aimed at promoting outdoor water efficiency in the region.
To foster awareness, Hearth Health Park will feature prominent signage, complimented by RWA’s branded water re-fill stations. Soccer fans will be able to learn tips for creating vibrant “Summer Strong” yards—landscapes that are tough enough to take the heat and still look their best. By embracing simple yet impactful changes, fans can make a big difference in water usage.

“As we begin moving into the summer months, we’re grateful for our partnership with the Sacramento Regional Water Authority,” said Republic FC Chief Revenue Officer Dustin Vicari. “Not only will the new water refill stations keep our fans hydrated on gamedays, but they will also provide reminders of some of the small changes we can make at home to be more efficient with our water usage.”
“We are excited about our new partnership with the Sacramento Republic FC,” said Amy Talbot, Water Efficiency Program Manager for the RWA, which represents 22 water providers serving 2 million people in the Sacramento region.
“Republic FC’s commitment to promoting sustainability in the Sacramento region and delivering an incredible fan experience at games, aligns perfectly with our vision,” Talbot said. “This collaboration represents great synergy between Republic FC and local water providers as we collectively work toward a shared goal of promoting responsible water use and environmental stewardship.”
RWA’s Be Water Smart program focuses on educating residents on the many ways they can reduce water waste at home. In the Sacramento region, most of the water used daily goes on lawns and landscaping, and about 30 percent of that is lost due to overwatering and evaporation. There are lots of ways to save water at home, but using water efficiently outdoors can make the biggest difference of all.
This year, homeowners are encouraged to make their yards “Summer Strong” by implementing water-wise best practices, such as watering in the morning to reduce evaporation, replacing older sprinklers and irrigation equipment with more efficient models, and introducing low-water and native plants to their yard.
The club will display Be Water Smart messaging and reminders at the stadium—including new water re-fill stations branded by RWA—to remind fans that a simple change at home can make a big difference in water use.
The partnership continues Republic FC’s commitment to using its platform to share information about conservation and environmental initiatives. With the launch of its City of Trees kit in 2022, the club teamed up with Save Our Water and the Sacramento Tree Foundation to emphasize the importance of saving water, as well as helpful ways the community can care for trees to support the region’s urban forest, encouraging residents to do their part. The Indomitable Club also added free bike parking at its stadium earlier this season, supporting the Sacramento Region Spare the Air program aimed at improving air quality.
Republic FC’s three-game homestand continues this Saturday as the club hosts San Antonio FC on Pride Night. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. PT and tickets are still available at SacRepublicFC.com/tickets. Fans can also learn more about the club’s activations for Pride month – including a merchandise collection and a special ticket package for Saturday’s game – at SacRepublicFC.com/Pride. For those watching the game from home, the match will be broadcast in English and Spanish on FOX40, Antenna TV 40.2, FOX40.com, and the FOX40 News mobile app, as well as streaming on ESPN+.
