For over 150 years, the Sacramento Children’s Home has been committed to helping children by providing high-quality care to the Sacramento region’s most vulnerable children and families. As the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Baker guides the city’s oldest organization to care for at-risk youth and provide service to over 7,000 children and 4,300 families each year.

The last 18 months have presented new challenges, and Dr. Baker was nominated for his efforts to ensure programming would not pause as a result of the pandemic, but the humble leader attributes it all to the team at the Sacramento Children’s Home.
“I think I would say that this is the representation of the hard work of the 275 plus employees and the commitment that they have always had to this community,” Dr. Baker says, “During the time of the pandemic and to see folks come in every day and making sure the needs of children and families in this community are met despite the hurdles COVID has thrown in front of us is inspiring.”
