Eligibility
How old do I have to be to participate?

I’m not a United States citizen or a Permanent Resident. Can I still participate in tryouts?
You do not need to be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident to participate in Republic FC open tryouts. However, any international trialist is responsible, at such trialist’s sole cost and expense, for complying with all immigration laws applicable to making a visit to the United States to participate in the tryouts, including procurement of a non-immigrant visa to permit such a visit.
On a case-by-case basis, Republic FC may be able to provide an invitation letter in support of a prospective trialist’s application for a temporary non-immigrant visa, such as a tourist visa, that would permit such a visit. In order for us to consider your application, you must send in your invitation request from your embassy in your home country. We will provide a letter of invitation when we have received the following information:
- Proof of registration and full payment for tryouts
- Full legal name
- Address
- Cell phone number
- Email address
- Letter from your embassy requesting an official invitation
- Intended dates of travel and accommodation details while in Sacramento
Please send your invitation request and the items above to tryouts@sacrepublicfc.com. If your visa request is turned down we will refund your $235 registration fee.
How does the tryout impact college eligibility?

Different states have different regulations regarding tryouts and Republic FC will not take responsibility regarding your NCAA eligibility. Please make such inquiries with your school’s NCAA compliance officer and college coach prior to signing up for Republic FC Tryouts.
